Madison, WI -

Madison police believe two burglaries and an attempted burglary on the city’s west side might be connected. A man called police at 7:51 p.m. Friday to report seeing two men attempting to break into his neighbor’s home in the 1400 block of Rae Lane.

The man told police he was able to scare them off. Police then found that a home in the 1700 block of Lynndale Road had entered but it wasn’t known if anything was taken. Another burglary was reported in the 6000 block of Piping Rock Road after 10 p.m. when the residents returned home and found jewelry missing.

In both cases, the burglars got into the homes by kicking in garage doors. Police used a K9 to track the burglars but were not able to find them.
