2 killed in Beloit fire identified - Madison Fire Safety

 

BELOIT, Wis. -

Two people are dead, and one person is critically injured following a fire early Wednesday morning on the west side of Beloit. Firefighters were sent to a home at 1950 Fairview Drive just before 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Beloit fire officials said Clint Christensen, 61, and Jamie Christensen, 33, died in the fire. Caren Christensen, 60, is listed in critical condition at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. According to Beloit police, officers assisted Caren Christensen out of the home, while firefighters battled heavy fire and smoke at the site. Clint Christensen and Jamie Christensen were located at the scene and pronounced dead at the home. 

 The cause and origin of the blaze remains under investigation. Beloit police are assisting with the investigation and will conduct the death investigation related to the fire. The State Fire Marshall has been called to assist in the investigation. As many as 30 firefighters were at the scene; fire crews remained at the scene putting out hotspots late Wednesday morning.
